Meeting God

Great God, in public and private, in sanctuary and home, may my life be steeped in prayer, filled with the spirit of grace and supplication, each prayer perfumed with the incense of atoning blood. Help me, defend me, until from praying ground I pass to the realm of unceasing praise. Urged by my need, invited by Thy promises, called by Thy Spirit, I enter Thy presence, worshipping Thee with godly fear, awed by Thy majesty, greatness, glory, but encouraged by Thy love.

I am all poverty as well as all guilt, having nothing of my own with which to repay Thee, but I bring Jesus to Thee in the arms of faith, pleading His righteousness to offset my iniquities, rejoicing that He will weigh down the scales for me, and satisfy thy justice. I bless Thee that great sin draws out great grace, that, although the lest sin deserves infinite punishment because done against an infinite God, yet there is mercy for me, for where guilt is most terrible, there Thy mercy in Christ is most free and deep. Bless me by revealing to me more of His saving merits, by causing Thy goodness to pass before me, by speaking peace to my contrite heart; strengthen me to give Thee no rest untiI Christ shall reign supreme within me in every thought, word, and deed, in a faith that purifies the heart, overcomes the world, works by love, fastens me to Thee, and ever clings to the cross.

Taking the Genesis Account Seriously

Mercy! Nothing but Pure Mercy! If it wasn't for God's Wonderful Mercy of Regeneration and Grace I would be talking the same trash as N.T. Wright and Tremper Longman III, about the Genesis Account. I can give tons of evidence based on reason why we should accept the Genesis Account as history and fact. But without the Great Seeker of Man drawing us to Himself. We would not and could not accept this precious account. What a Kind God that would open these truths to us by His Word through the Holy Spirit. N.T. Wright tell us to lighten up! He makes it sound like we are getting to serious about a fictional Novel. This is God's Holy Account of Creation. Instead of lightening up we should be bowing to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

The following quote from An Introduction to the Old Testament by Edward J. Young, 1949.
page 49:
We are not to regard the chapter as the reworking by the Priestly School of a myth that was common to ancient tradition. Rather, the chapter is sober history. Although Genesis does not purport to be a textbook of science, nevertheless, when it touches upon scientific subjects, it is accurate. Science has never discovered any facts which are in conflict with the statements of Genesis 1.

This was the closing of John Piper's message:

"So I close with a pointed call to vigilance: Watch out for smooth talkers who pastor large churches, write many books, lead wide ministries, and do not manifestly prize above their earthly good the whole counsel of God.

So to all Bloggers, to all readers, to that have repented and placed their trust in Jesus Christ. Please Pray! Pray that the counsel of God's Word will be clear!

A Covenant of Civility: Pointing the finger at Biblical Truth

Can Saul become Paul: Rick Warren

Wow!. I can't believe you compared Rick Warren with Saul. Take a deep....... no, never mind. In a few evangelical churches his message and methods would be considered the life fruits of a Saul. One that has placed the Gospel of Jesus Christ before anything else and placed the Gospel higher then anything else are showing the fruits of a Paul. Is this the ministry of Rick Warren in the world stage?
But in Acts 9:1-31. Saul was changed by nothing but a face to face encounter with The Lord Jesus Christ. Back in February and again in March John Piper has announced that Rick Warren has been invited to the Fall Desiring God Conference to speak. Does John Piper know something that we haven't a clue about? Can this meeting with Rick Warren be a reaching out to a Saul.
The best action we can do is to Pray! There is hope! There is Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit using His Word to speak to a life.
